The puzzle, explained

The purple group is all things that can follow the word "defensive"—defensive end, defensive tackle, defensive back, and defensive indifference (that baseball rule). The tricky part is that three of those words are also Toronto Blue Jays players (Cease, Guerrero, and Springer), which was definitely the biggest bait here—you might've spotted those names first and grouped them with Bieber, thinking it was all Jays players. But Bieber actually belongs in the blue group as a Blue Jays player, not the purple one, while "indifference" breaks the pattern completely unless you know that specific baseball terminology. The yellow and green groups were pretty straightforward once you cleared away those distractions.
