MOUND was a pretty tricky one today because it's got that awkward "OU" vowel pairing that doesn't show up super often in common words, so a lot of people probably burned through guesses before landing on it. The double issue here is that M and D are both fairly common consonants, which might have given you false confidence early on—you could have easily guessed MOUND-adjacent words like MOUNT or MOURN and thought you were on the right track. The real trap was that OU combo sitting right in the middle; if you weren't thinking of words with that specific vowel pattern, you'd waste precious guesses on SOUND, POUND, or ROUND instead, which are way more common. That said, once you nailed down the M-O-U combo, the ending pretty much had to be either -ND or -NT, so it wasn't *impossible* if you got there methodically.
