The puzzle, explained

The purple group is all things that can follow "Sporting" to make famous soccer teams or phrases—Sporting Kansas City, Sporting CP (the Portuguese club), Sporting Park (their stadium), and Sporting Behavior (okay, that's the wordplay twist, but it completes the pattern). The main bait here was probably confusing Sporting CP with just being a team name rather than understanding it fits the "Sporting ____" formula alongside the others. You might've also gotten tripped up thinking some of these words belonged in the yellow group about coin tosses—"CHOICE OF ENDS" and "HEADS/TAILS" are definitely about that pre-game ritual, so they were there to distract you from the Sporting pattern. The blue group of Italian island clubs (Cagliari, Messina, Catania, Palermo) was probably the hardest non-purple group to spot if you weren't thinking geographically about Italian football.
